Natural Oriental Treatment for Eczema
Eczema is a common allergic inflammatory dermatitis. It is an extremely upsetting condition, due to the itchiness of the skin and the lack of an effective treatment in conventional medicine.
Treatment with Oriental Medicine
Oriental medicine believes that eczema is not caused by the skin itself, although it occurs on the skin. It is caused by internal pathogens, such as heat and dampness which build up in the body. Oriental medicine sees the human body as an organic whole and believes that it has a close relationship with the natural world. From this view point, eczema may be caused by food which is too damp or energetically ‘hot‘, or from stress which creates internal heat. Also, children naturally have more internal heat and more delicate digestive systems which makes them particularly prone to this condition. Different remedies can be used to effectively clear away pathogens, by clearing heat and dampness and cooling the blood. This approach has been tried and tested for thousands of years. The diagnosis and treatment are based on an overall analysis of signs and symptoms of illness, rather than on the illness itself. Treatment is with either herbal teas or herbal powders. Good results can be seen in 1-2 weeks with herbal teas and in 3-4 weeks with herbal powders.
